Euan Semple posted this video on his blog recently. I totally identify with it, especially since this happened.
It has badly hurt my business and I might not recover from it. When I shared what had happened with a few members of my network, they revealed that this is a common experience. I can't get my head around it.

I watched this the other day and laughed my arse off because it is so true. I have been in almost all of these situations. I'd like to get this attached to my business card ;-)
@Harold Actually, I thought of you when I saw it!
Here's mine:
1) You want me to travel 2-3 hours for a one hour meeting, but you won't pay me even the expenses.
2) You want me to tell you everything I know ....for nothing.
3) You don't understand why I have to charge a day rate that's twice as high as your salaried staff.
4) No, 200 GBP per day, doesn't mean I earn 50K a year - it's less than half that - that's why I charge more.
5) So, where is my contract?
Still, it's better than having a proper job!
@Rob Ah, I recognise a kindred spirit. How often have you heard the term 'cost of sale'? Don't let's even go there!
