Last night, we had by far the heaviest snowfall we've seen in the UK in the 10 years we've been here. It had never occurred to me that snowfall was inconsistent. Our back garden has about 15-20cm, but a field near our house was easily under about 30cm.
My younger son and I took the dog for a walk this morning and, feeling very daring, let her off the leash for the first time ever. She was ecstatic! She made friends with other dogs and raced around the park at a speed that wouldn't disgrace a greyhound. But she came back when she was called. One of the dogs she met was a pedigree Akita and the likeness between the two of them was unmistakeable.
